Ministry Training

We want to encourage church members who have been Christians for a while to consider seriously how they might grow in usefulness to Christ.

In particular, we want folk who have godly character and gifts of understanding the Bible to see whether they also have an aptitude for teaching the Bible. This isn't a secondary aim. It's actually commanded in the Bible.
The apostle Paul wrote these words to Timothy: "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others" (2 Timothy 2:2).

If you think this might be you what can you do? Be committed to personal holiness, give yourself to being a Bible student right now, and take whatever opportunities to serve that you can. Have a chat with Andrew Grey, our minister. And you might find a few things in our resources section to help you grow in your Christian thinking, living and usefulness to Jesus.

For existing leaders (occasional preachers, fellowship group leaders, youth and children's workers) we provide regular meetings for prayer, preparation and feedback. There are useful online resources here for you too. And we encourage attendance at trustworthy external events and conferences - such as those run by New Word Alive, the Proclamation Trust, the South East Gospel Partnership and Oak Hill Theological College.
